It is Mr. Bornheimer here again to let you know about some great opportunities coming up in AHS Physics! First, we have an upcoming test in physics this Friday. Make sure you are studying and taking the practice tests online! Second, we have several opportunities coming up involving field trips!
Tentatively scheduled for November 14th is our first field trip to Eastern Michigan University! We will be visiting the observatory and planetarium. The cost is $2 per student and it will be from approximately 6:45pm to 8:00pm (note: this is a school night). There is the possibility we will do dinner at the wonderful Cottage Inn in downtown Ann Arbor (10 minutes from EMU) beforehand if there is enough interest. There is limited availability for this event! Permission slips will be given out in class. Please fill it out and send the bottom portion back if this is an opportunity you want to participate in!
This spring we are tentatively planning a trip to cedar point. We are still nailing down the details but in order for us to set pricing we need to know how many people would be interested in going. Below you will find a survey for your parents to take. Please forward it to them or bring it up on your home computer and fill it out. It is important that this survey be completed, it will act as our official count and if we don’t have enough students interested in going, we will cancel the trip. 😦
We would like to have the information for Cedar Point set in stone by Thanksgiving!
Lastly, there is an opportunity for you to participate in a bridge building competition! The competition is sponsored through the Michigan Department of transportation and will take place on April the 17th in Lansing! This same program also offers paid summer internships for graduating seniors. If you are interested in participating there will be an informational meeting after school on OCTOBER 22nd (next week)! For more information please click on the link below!
The competition registration deadline is November 1st. Teams must consist of three members (no more, no less). I have information packets and registration forms if you are interested!
That is all for now! I hope you all have a great week!
